Reservations Essential to guarantee a seating. We are happy to have your custom without a booking but cannot guarantee that a table will be immediately available or available at all with bookings already taken. Our simple on-line Reservations Form at the bottom of the page has proven very popular and we invite you to use this. For those who wish to phone for a booking you need to know that although I live on the premises I am not always able to answer the restuarant phone personally. Leave a message on the answerphone and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. Large Parties, Group Bookings or Functions The information about bookings of this type listed under Functions above might be more suited to your needs. Please read the page and contact me for more information and a free quotation. A contact name is essential When making a booking please provide a contact person's day and night contact details so that confirmation of the booking can be made. Special Diet Needs. From time to time we have guests who have special reqirements (e.g. allergy to garlic). Please notify us of that need at the time of booking otherwise we cannot guarantee a suitable alternative will be available. Getting Here Gumdiggers is located in Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead, North Shore City. At the foot of the page is a Google facility that may help. Funnily enough the Street View function showns our next door neighbour. On our map at right the restaurant location is marked by a Star on the map. Hinemoa Street runs down from the Highbury Shopping Centre (C). North Shore people from the Bays and areas north will find we are within easy reach from the motorway and can come via the road of their choice to Highbury and then into Hinemoa Street.See below for more detail. From the City side Gumdiggers is within a short drive from the city over the harbour bridge. Coming from the city take the Onewa Road off-ramp (B) which is the off-ramp just before the first overhead bridge. Continue up the hill to the second set of traffic lights (C) . Turn left here. Proceed past the shops until the give way sign at the roundabout. Turn left there. You are in Hinemoa St. Drive down the hill and you will find us on right hand side in the first group of shops. Option (A) for those who know the area is the first turn off over the bridge by the Highway Police Patrol HQ. That takes you via Rodney Street, Council Terrace, Maritime Terrace to Hinemoa Street. At Hinemoa Street you turn right and proceed up the road past the two blocks of shops at Rugby Terrace. Gumdiggers is on your left. Parking Parking is on the road and as we are in a residential area we ask that you respect our neighbours especially when it comes to noise late in the evening. ONLINE RESERVATIONS FORM
